MACs project Summary

It is a common belief and contemporary strategy of behavioral change, to boost quality of life & sustainable environment campaigns through arts & culture. EERco is aiming to "quality of life" development by supporting European Solidarity Corps (ESC) projects related to Arts and Humanities. Many movements in art history have tried to change society as to support that art can play a big role in quality of life. In our ESC project the volunteer shall 1) learn & support activities related to personal development and Youth Work experiences as well as, relevant training, in behalf of ESAI EN ROI. 2) visit other associations of Central-Macedonia; job-shadowing at local art-schools or art-houses. 3) run a project related to arts & society, attributing to the promotion of local culture, customs & history 4) create his own entertainment activities attended by children, elderly, social minorities or disabled population 4) an opportunity to implicate local community to his/her project

Tiffaine's Statements

First and foremost, it is a great pleasure for me to join the team of volunteers who will gather for 6 months in Thessaloniki with the organization ESAI EN ROI.

My name is Tifaine Coignoux and I am thrilled to participate in the Maximize Arts and Creativity Skills mission.

To provide a brief of my background: I studied at the Beaux-Arts in France, this allowed me to open up to the world of art. There, I developed several creative projects using various mediums such as sculpture, photography, writing, performance and sound. I continually enjoy introducing these diverse mediums to different audiences during workshops. I hope to offer several such workshops during my volunteering in Thessaloniki. I think of these workshops as spaces for both play and learning, as I believe that creation, in any form, is a constructive game in which one can flourish.

Following my studies at the Beaux-Arts, I completed a civic service. This experience allowed me to, firstly, introduce my initial workshops to a wider audience, and secondly, to discover new methods for raising awareness about values that are dear to me, such as kindness, freedom, ecology and respect (for others and oneself). These values will be reflected in the proposals I will make during this volunteering, whether in projects or workshops.

I am very enthusiastic about coming to Greece, one of the cradles of antiquity, rich in art history and mythology. My studies have given me a real passion for this country, and I look forward to discovering its contemporary culture. I am looking forward to starting this volunteering, proposing multiple projects and adapting them to the local culture, while remaining open to new experiences and learning within ESAI EN ROI.

Kind regards,

Tifaine Coignoux
