Condolence Letter in Memory of Agorastakis Georgios

It is with deep sadness that we learned of the passing of Giorgos Agorastakis, President of the Pancretan Association of Friends of Mikis Theodorakis, a friend, collaborator, and devoted scholar of the work of our great composer.

In 2020, Esai en Roi had the honor of paying a great tribute to Mikis Theodorakis, shortly before he passed away, awarding him the Euterpi Prize. The success of that event was largely due to the generous contribution of Giorgos Agorastakis, who shared his knowledge with us, guided us with modesty and wisdom, and encouraged us to do everything possible to pay tribute to Mikis Theodorakis. His presence was a beacon for us and his guidance a valuable legacy.

George Agorastakis was Mikis Theodorakis's representative, friend, and companion. He lived with self-denial and passion for the dissemination of his work and spiritual heritage. His career and ethos leave an indelible mark on our cultural memory.
