We warmly thank all those who contributed to enhancing the quality of the action “The Footprints of the Time Thread”, implemented within the activity MAXIMIZE ARTS AND CREATIVITY SKILLS of the European Solidarity Corps.
The most important initiatives of this action included:
The campaign “Green Velocity – Crash the Habit, Give Momentum for a Better Tomorrow”, which involved study visits, the creation of a manifesto, audio material (interviews and testimonies), photographic material (pedestrian zones, streets, vehicles), and audiovisual outputs reflecting the status quo of Thessaloniki on the subject.
The workshops (Thessaloniki) and the visual art exhibition of 23 Europeans, including 11 young participants (Thessaloniki) and 12 mid-aged participants (Chania), under the title “Traces after Chaos.”
The International Symposium GREEN PORTALS THINK-TANK, which brought together policymakers, social policy stakeholders, and youth workers.
Our team expresses its sincere gratitude to all institutions and partners who, each in their own way, contributed to the success and completion of the program.
We especially thank:
The Region of Crete / Regional Unit of Chania, the 2nd Municipal Community of Thessaloniki, and the Panhellenic Association of Support and Solidarity for Families of Road Accident Victims "AGIOS XHRISTOFOROS" for coordinating and hosting the activities.
The Koukoutsakis family and the Cultural Organization AZOGYRE for organizing the visual art exhibition in Azogyre and Chania on the theme of road accidents (Traces after Chaos).
The institutions and venues that hosted and guided our action team: Institute of Sustainable Mobility and Transport Networks (11 July), Thessaloniki Traffic Police Department (14 July), Association of Fans of Thessaloniki Railway Museum (15 July), Thessaloniki Floating Museum (17 July), Thessaloniki War Museum (21 July).
PROTECTA of the Municipalities of Pavlos Melas and Evosmos for the valuable training in first aid (24 July).
The volunteers — young people from Greece, Europe, and beyond — who, with creativity, inspiration, and collaboration, brought the campaign to life.
All the citizens who participated in the activities, reinforcing through their presence and interest the message of prevention, empathy, and sustainable mobility.
We also extend our warm thanks to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure for trusting our work and supporting our cause, as well as to our communication sponsor ERT3 & 95.8 FM, who significantly contributed to the promotion of the activities.
Thanks to this collective effort, the campaign succeeded in leaving behind a footprint of art, knowledge, and social awareness that will continue to inspire.
Finally, it is worth noting that volunteer Ilana Lamas von Sohsten won the International Award for high performance within the framework of this specific program as she managed not to deviate from the main goal at all despite the existing temptations of the summer and received the prestigious international award Global Youth Awards 2025.
