Design is more than just visuals; it’s about solving problems and telling stories through images and shapes. Today, we introduce a talented graphic designer from Estonia who brings a unique perspective shaped by diverse professional experiences. This creative mind has been working in design for two years and is now part of the Maximize Arts and Creativity Skills activity of the European Solidarity Corps.

A Journey Through Different Fields

Before fully embracing graphic design, Lev explored various career paths that enriched his skill set and understanding of people. Starting as a team lead in Apple customer support, they learned how to manage teams and communicate clearly under pressure. This role sharpened his ability to listen and respond effectively, skills that translate well into design work where understanding client needs is crucial.

Later, he worked at Booking.com as a customer support quality improvement specialist. This position involved analyzing processes and finding ways to enhance customer satisfaction. Such experience taught them to pay attention to details and continuously seek improvement—qualities that are essential in creative work.

His time in the banking sector, including a role in the fraud investigation department, added another layer of discipline and analytical thinking. Investigating fraud requires patience, precision, and a methodical approach, all of which contribute to a designer’s ability to create clear, purposeful work.

How These Experiences Shape his Design Approach

Combining customer service, quality improvement, and fraud investigation with graphic design creates a unique blend of skills. This designer approaches projects with a strong focus on user experience and problem-solving. He understands that design is not just about aesthetics but about making information accessible and engaging.

For example, when working on a branding project, he considers how the design will communicate the company’s values and connect with its audience. His background in quality improvement helps him refine designs through feedback and testing, ensuring the final product meets high standards.

Joining the Maximize Arts and Creativity Skills Activity

Being part of the European Solidarity Corps’ Maximize Arts and Creativity Skills activity offers Lev a platform to grow and collaborate with other creative minds. This opportunity allows him to expand their artistic skills, learn new techniques, and contribute to meaningful projects that promote cultural exchange and creativity. Participation in such a program also reflects his commitment to continuous learning and community engagement. It’s a chance to bring fresh ideas to the table and inspire others with his journey from diverse professional roles to a focused career in design.

For anyone interested in design or creative careers, this journey highlights the value of exploring different paths and embracing opportunities for growth. Keep an eye on LEV's work as he makes his mark in the world of arts and creativity.
