From Ritual and Theatre to Collective Flow: Alexis at ESAI EN ROI

Alexis Lidec

We are delighted to welcome Alexis Lidec to ESAI EN ROI E as a volunteer for the next six

months in Thessaloniki.

Originally from Brittany, France, a region deeply connected to ritual, hospitality and the Atlantic horizon, Alexis brings with him a strong sense of cultural identity, storytelling and openness to dialogue. His first name, deriving from the Greek verb ἀλέξειν (“to defend, to help”), resonates symbolically with the values of solidarity, care and active participation that guide our work.

Alexis’ path weaves together law, political science and theatre, combining analytical thinking with artistic expression. After academic studies in France and Ireland, he chose to fully embrace his passion for the performing arts, training in Paris at a private theatre school and performing on various stages of the French capital. His experience spans acting, singing, movement, filming and stage work, as well as the everyday realities of cultural work, from theatre production to audience engagement and box office coordination.

Alongside his artistic journey, Alexis maintains a deep interest in international relations, social issues, philosophy and politics, always approaching them through curiosity, reflection and critical thinking. His cultural universe is rich and eclectic, ranging from contemporary theatre and Celtic music to cinema, fencing and storytelling—elements that naturally align with the interdisciplinary and participatory ethos of ESAI EN ROI.

During his volunteering period, Alexis will contribute to cultural, educational and creative actions, bringing his theatrical sensitivity, communication skills and reflective perspective into collective processes and community-based initiatives. His presence strengthens our belief in art as a tool for connection, expression and social engagement.
