On Saturday, 15 February 2026, at 11:00 a.m., the outdoor school garden of the 4th Primary School of Polichni came alive with community spirit as it hosted the New Year’s cake-cutting ceremony of PROTEKTA Kordelio – Evosmos, chaired by Giorgos Makavos. The event brought together local residents, school staff, volunteers, and representatives of community organizations to celebrate the new year in a festive and meaningful way.
A highlight of the ceremony was the recognition of ESAI EN ROI as the final training group of the year in first aid, marking the 159th training session. The award was proudly received on behalf of ESAEI EN ROI by Alexis Lidec, actor and European Solidarity Corps volunteer, who emphasized the importance of first aid knowledge, community engagement, and active volunteering for young people and adults alike.
The event showcased not only celebration but also the commitment of local organizations to education, safety, and solidarity. Volunteers and participants had the opportunity to connect, share experiences, and reflect on the value of continuous learning and civic responsibility. The presence of ESAI EN ROI highlighted the role of training programs in equipping citizens with practical skills while fostering teamwork, leadership, and a sense of social contribution.
The outdoor setting of the 4th Primary School garden added warmth and accessibility to the occasion, allowing participants to enjoy the natural surroundings while engaging in meaningful activities. The ceremony reinforced community bonds, demonstrating how collaboration between schools, local associations, and volunteer organizations can create enriching experiences for everyone involved.
By combining celebration, recognition, and education, this event exemplified the power of local initiatives to inspire, motivate, and strengthen community ties. ESAEI EN ROI’s award serves as a reminder of the lasting impact of training, volunteering, and active participation in initiatives that benefit society as a whole.
