ESAEI EN ROI invites 5 people residing in our country (18-30 years old) to a volunteer programme

in Thessaloniki together with a group of 10-11 people from different European countries to participate in an action aimed at supporting the local community in upgrading the quality of life with initiatives related to and serving sustainability: Actions in the parks of Western and Eastern Thessaloniki highlighting the differences between them, capturing the environmental treasures (following a relevant two-day training seminar in travel photography) and highlighting the needs of the parks.

We intervene with portable constructions in the shaping of the space and donate our derivatives to the locators.

Important priority will be given to the parks that are close to our headquarters, to the green areas of the Municipality of Pavlos Melas (Byzantine Water Mills, Meteora Grove, potential Metropolitan Parks of Pavlos Melas and Karatasou).

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

A 17 days project for applying basic green practices in a park that is missing recycling bins, orientation plates, attention plates, restriction plates and other basic information for making more sustainable, clean and practical the parks of West Thessaloniki, mainly those within Pavlos Melas Municipality. Moreover, several activities for memorizing the local history through constructions from recycled material and in benefit of the citizens' quality of life will be applied (eg. regeneration of the Thessaloniki's beach; reconstruction and decoration of abandoned public buildings, etc). This activity is accomplished in 4 phases, each group of volunteers works on one of the projects mentioned above under the actiivity project: be Sustainable, Sportive and Cultural
